Project Story: Full Home Transformation — Louisville, KY
This full home renovation completely transformed an outdated and compartmentalized house into a bright, modern, open-concept living space tailored to today’s lifestyle. The first floor was originally a maze of small rooms, so we reworked the layout into one open, flowing space and installed large-format white marble tile flooring to visually expand and brighten the entire level.
The kitchen was redesigned from the ground up with modern cabinetry, a custom backsplash, glass-front upper cabinets, and a more efficient layout. Bathrooms across the home were rebuilt using a mix of marble flooring and a combination of marble and glass wall tiles for a clean, spa-like feel.
To maximize function, we finished a portion of the previously unfinished basement, added a bar area, installed porcelain tile flooring, and updated the living room with an offset accent wall that ties the entire design together.
Upstairs, we installed white oak hardwood floors to bring warmth and contrast to the sleeping quarters. The primary bathroom suite received a full reconfiguration — we added square footage to the bathroom by expanding into the old closet area, and strengthened the attic floor joists to convert the attic above the garage into a spacious new primary suite closet.
For the staircase, we removed the outdated carpeted landings, risers, and traditional wood handrails, replacing them with granite slab landings for a clean, elegant look. We paired the stone with a modern aluminum handrail system, creating a sleek, contemporary design that ties seamlessly into the home’s new open-concept layout. This upgrade not only elevated the aesthetic but also reinforced the modern style the homeowner envisioned for the entire renovation.
